Michigan Bigfoot Sightings

Did you know there have been sightings of ‘Bigfoot‘ in Michigan? Neither did I. Stranger still, did you know there is a website devoted to sightings in Michigan of the sasquatchean kind? Neither did I, but if you ever find yourself meeting up with Bigfoot in Michigan, better hope he’s Gellin’… I mean you can always contact the people at the Michigan Bigfoot Information Center-Home of The Michigan Sasquatch Studies Group. This group is looking to document sightings of sasquatch in Michigan using any video and pictures they may obtain through eye-witness accounts. The Studies Group also promises anonymity to all who report a sighting to what ever degree the contributer requires. The group aspires to not only document sightings, but also to establish patterns of behavior and habitat information, in case it becomes necessary to protect Sasquatch in the future. They are not trying to verify the existence of Bigfoot for the scientific community. To them, Bigfoot’s existence is a given.

Most of the accounts on the Sightings page seem to be passages taken from a book written on the subject. “Sasquatch, The Apes Among Us”, by John Green, 1978, to be exact, but there are some that are not. For example, A witness only known as N.K. reported an encounter he had in the mid 1980’s near Lowell, Michigan in Kent County. Apparently N.K. had a brush with Bigfoot while walking home at night from a friends house. This happened in the same area that a young girl and an elderly woman had both gone missing in the woods. Creepy. Then there is the couple in Oscoda County, NW of Mio, whose encounter in the early 1990’s included not only a sighting but footprints in the snow, and several hairs were supposedly gathered as evidence. There is also a section for pictures, but there are only a few online.
